LAST YR WAS GREAT BUT THIS YR BOO HAD TO BLOCK OUT THE FACT THAT HE HAD JUST BLEW UP HIS TRITON BOAT IN PRACTICE ON FRIDAY. STAYING CALM WAS THE KEY TO HIS SUCCESS THIS YR. HE JUST CALLS FOR A BACK UP SKEETER AND WINS THE TOURNAMENT. I KNOW IN HIS MIND THE CLASSIC IS GREAT BUT HE IS SETTING HIS EYES ON THE 2011 ANGLER OF THE YR TITLE. LOOK OUT WUSSELL HE IS COMING FOR YA. GAS AND OIL FOR TRIP $200. FOOD AND EXTRAS. $150. BLOWN UP BOAT $2000. EXTRA PRICE FOR 2ND BOAT $175. TWO TRIPS TO BASS PRO SOP $75. | Classic Champion 2011 "Boo VanDam Hager" Most stories gain power when given by an eye witness. This will be my take of the unsolved mystery Can lightening strike the same person twice or even three times? Well this sounds unlikely and the odds would be great for this to happen. Not saying I want lightening to strike my partner (considering I usually have a pole with a NET on the end of it in my hands at all times.) Boo Hager is some kind of “Freak of Nature” or something. Let me explain. It has been a year since Boo captured the 2010 Classic in which he managed to double my catch each day (from the back of the boat). A year later, I set here scratching my head wondering how he managed to do the exact same thing again. I would cast to a certain spot several times while he was throwing off, he gave me a chance at the productive area first. Then after I beat the area to death he comes to the front and picks up the rod, makes a cast and lands not one good keeper but two on the same cast. Next example: Boo finds himself launching his bait to the middle of the lake trying to get a bird’s nest out of his bait caster. While this took a couple of minutes and I have continued to hammer the spot with no results. I hear "GET THE NET!” You have to be kidding me? "NO, Really Get the Net!” Yep, another 2lb or so. I guess I shared all this, to come to this point. Boo Hager has captured his third straight Classic title and deserves all congratulations that can be given. Yes he can knock their lights out on Douglas in October but more than that, he is one of the most humble people I have ever been associated with. Glad to know he is a brother in Christ. Boo finsihed with 20# 4oz for two day total. "NO FUN LIE EITHER" JT |
