KYFOCBA RETURNS TO NORRIS!!! It’s almost here! When March 24th rolls around, it will have been about five and a half months by the time the first boat blasts off early in the fog, since the Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Bass Anglers last held a tournament. Once again, Norris Lake will be the kickoff to the 2012 season for KYFOCBA, and once again, anglers will be ready to shake the dust off of their rods and get to fishing. Fishing in March has always proven to be tricky for KYFOCBA members. It could be artic cold fronts coming down from the north, or it could 70 degrees and sunny. And throw finicky fish like a smallmouth into the equation, you have a tournament where it could be really tough--or really good. The last three years have been affected by the weather and this year will probably be no different. The new 18 inch size limit on smallmouths will certainly play into some decision- making on the part of some anglers. Whether it’s cold and rainy or warm and sunny, we look forward to the fun and fellowship that always comes along with this tournament. The cookouts on Friday and Saturday nights are always a highlight of the trip. Just look for smoke rising up from burnt hamburgers--and you will find it. You can usually find somebody playing a guitar and singing a song or you could find somebody telling a “fun lie” in the corner somewhere. Good food, being with friends, fishing, and bringing honor to our Savior is what we look forward to the most this year. We will continue to keep God at the center of our lives and at the center of this club. We look forward to start of a new fishing season and the start of friendships that last a lifetime. We pray that Jesus our Lord will be with us throughout this year and we pray that he blesses each and every member this year. Good luck in the upcoming year! We will see you on the water!
